What you will learn

  • Open a specific Deal or Task from Dashboard
  • Follow native and configured custom relationships
  • Use a saved record link without losing BU access controls
  • Configure and test a public booking page

A sales manager notices a pipeline stage and an overdue task, then needs to inspect the related company, customer, order and product before inviting a customer to book time.

Lesson 1

A stage is a summary; a record is a destination

Pipeline by stage groups many Deals. Expand the stage and choose a Deal by name. Priority tasks open their Task records directly. An object record has its own page address, so a bookmark can return to it after sign-in. Search & create navigates to a matching object list; it does not create a custom table when you ask for a record. Create a custom object in Objects before adding rows. A direct link still checks the current BU, role and object permissions.

Lesson 2

Follow related records without guessing IDs

The Related records section shows saved connections in either direction: Contact to Company, Deal to Contact or Company, Task to its related record, Order to Contact and Product, and configured custom-object lookups. Select a name to open the linked record. Large lists offer Show more after the first 25 entries. A missing group can mean no saved link or no view permission. The related list never authorizes cross-BU access. In an Order detail, the Customer and Product names are also direct links.

Lesson 3

Prepare the public booking experience

In Bookings, edit the title, introduction, accent color and confirmation message. Add a service with its duration, then assign a team member’s working days, hours and timezone. A paused service or staff member stops offering new times but does not erase past appointments. Preview the public booking link and make a controlled test reservation. Check the Bookings list before sharing the link broadly.

Practice · Trace a customer journey

  1. On Dashboard, expand one pipeline stage and open a Deal. Open a Priority task and follow its Related record link.
  2. From a Contact, follow its Company and other Related records. Open an Order and follow the Contact and Product links.
  3. Open a permitted custom object and follow a configured lookup in both directions; use Show more when a related list has more than 25 records.
  4. In Bookings, edit the public page message, add a visible service, set active team availability and preview the customer link.
