What you will learn

  • Find and edit each public marketing setting separately
  • Publish or delete a custom page and connect an email button
  • Save form responses to a BU object and show a report on the dashboard

A small business wants a landing page for an email campaign, a contact form that creates CRM records and a dashboard that shows the results.

Lesson 1

Keep public marketing settings clear

Pages has separate Profile centre, Mailing address and Email sender views. Profile centre controls the title, introduction, accent colour and optional safe HTML shown on the unsubscribe and resubscribe page. Its preview uses an example subscriber; a real email link is unique to its recipient. Mailing address holds the physical business address shown in marketing footers and on the public address page. Save each view separately. The Subscribers tab contains the people, statuses and histories; it is no longer where these page settings are edited.

Lesson 2

Draft, preview, publish and remove custom pages

In Pages → Custom pages, create a landing page or form page. The editor has HTML, CSS and JavaScript tabs, line numbers, font-size controls, HTML formatting and an isolated preview. Save the draft before publishing. Later draft edits do not change the live page until republished. Select a published page as an email CTA destination. A Trial business can keep up to two custom pages. Delete page is available in the editor and in the page list. Deleting or unpublishing disables its public URL, including an existing CTA, so check active campaigns before removal.

Lesson 3

Collect form records with deliberate field mapping

A Form page maps the name of each HTML input to a field of a permitted standard object or an active custom object in the same business unit. Map all required fields before publishing. A public submission creates a record in that target object; it does not give marketing consent or subscribe the sender. Preview forms do not store data. Test with information you own, then check the created record in the chosen object.

Lesson 4

Place a live report on the dashboard

In Reports, select an object and permitted fields, then run a table, bar chart or line chart against the current business-unit data. Name and save the report with Show on my dashboard to add it as a tile. The dashboard can show up to six of your own selected reports and queries current data when it loads. A chart needs a numeric field; otherwise it appears as a table. Your existing object and report permissions still apply.

Practice · Build a campaign destination

  1. Open Pages. Edit the Profile centre, then inspect its preview. Open Mailing address separately and check the public address link.
  2. In Custom pages, create a Form page with an HTML form. Map its input names to Contact fields, save a draft and check the preview.
  3. Publish the page and select its published URL as an email button destination. Submit your own test details through the public page and inspect the new Contact in the same BU.
  4. In Reports, create a saved report on Contacts, select Show on my dashboard and inspect its tile on the dashboard.
  5. Create a disposable draft page and use Delete page from the editor or the trash action in the page list. Confirm its URL is no longer available.
