What you will learn

  • Install an origin-restricted browser snippet
  • Link a visitor to a Contact from a trusted server
  • Build and test a product-level abandoned-browse audience

A shopper views a product, leaves the site and later receives a relevant follow-up only if they have not purchased it.

Lesson 1

Install and respect visitor consent

The public tracker script is registered to an exact HTTPS site origin and active BU integration source. It does not contain the ingestion secret. Add the script to that site and call consent(true) after your consent manager permits tracking. It then records a page view, optional tracked clicks, and explicitly requested SKU browse and cart events. Product views need the actual SKU; a generic page URL alone cannot reliably identify a product. Pause the site in Integrations to stop new collection.

Lesson 2

Identify safely and exclude purchases

Browser events use a random visitor ID and are anonymous until your trusted website server sends an identify event using its inbound source key and that same visitor ID. SupaChrome links recorded events to the Contact email within this BU. A product-browse audience requires a Contact recipient email, a specific SKU, a lookback period and a minimum wait. The latest view of that SKU must be old enough; a matching website purchase after the view or a matching non-cancelled Order line excludes the Contact. Preview the audience before connecting it to a Send Flow. Schedule hourly refresh for a current estimate, or use an Audience joins entry flow to act when the membership changes. Always respect suppression at send time.

Practice · Follow a controlled SKU view

  1. In Integrations create an inbound source and register the HTTPS origin of a test storefront under Website tracking.
  2. Copy its script to the storefront and call SupaChromeTracker.consent(true) only after the visitor grants appropriate consent.
  3. On a product view call SupaChromeTracker.track("browse", {sku:"TEST-SKU"}); on add to cart call track("cart", {sku:"TEST-SKU"}).
  4. From your server POST identify with the same visitor ID and Contact email to /api/ingest/{BU code}, authenticated with the source key. Never put that key in browser JavaScript.
  5. In Audiences create a Contact audience, select Product browse without purchase, enter TEST-SKU, a wait time and lookback period, and preview. Add an order for that SKU and verify exclusion.
